Si Valdalen looks dour. "A bridge, eh. I see no evidence of such a thing. Yet somehow we must cross this. Perhaps we could tie a rope to the goblin and throw HIM across." The youth grins briefly then returns to being pessimistic. "But seriously, no bridge - this is a problem. There is nothing TO do but to search the bank for something suitable, assuming there isn't some sort of fell magic casting a veil before our eyes to prevent us from seeing the bridge. One way or another, let us start quickly to address this obstacle, oui?"
Lwentano studies the river for as far as he can see in all directions. If there is a invisible bridge the water will move about it. He does not know a lot about bridges but water is something that always follows the easiest course. IF something is there it will be seen.
I think we may have to travel up or down stream to see if we find a suitable way to cross. I say lets head upstream first.
Sir Valdalen nods at Lwentano's suggestion and begins walking and looking for anything unusual on the bank or in the water.
"You have rope, but I only brought a crowbar. I've cut the little wood I've needed, I admit shamedly, with my sword, as I felt a hand ax was redundant, and a larger ax too heavy and unnecessary most of the time. We *could* cut saplings and smaller vines and trees and weave them into a crude assembly but without an anchor on both sides and a way to get it to both to begin with, if we COULD find a 40 foot crossing, our ingenuity is of little use, and I feel our tools are inadequate to chop down a tree of the size or breadth we need. I would hate to think we could have somehow sailed across the river in the centipede carapace or something ridiculous."

Myrrani balks at Valdalen's suggestion.
"C-cut down trees? You can't! Even saplings... They're like children. How could you? Why would you even suggest that? We can still find the bridge."
"We got two 50foot ropes, let me see if I can tie them, together,
I think our safest option is to tie it to our best swimmer and send him across, pull him back if he starts to drown, then when he makes it across the others can pull themselves along the rope"

Myrrani remembers her friend the Nymph and almost cries. She sits down on the edge of the small island and dips her toes in the water, thinking silently.
Sir Valdalen turns away to cough and to slightly to disguise the massive eyerolling going on at the melodrama by the fae, then turns back and nods.
"Well, we wouldn't want to cut down trees to build things out of them; I don't know what I was thinking... The rope idea could work. This is a wide river, I can't believe we're still so far from the other side. I'm afraid I can barely keep myself afloat in water, so I'll bow to one of the more experienced waterdogs to get the rest of us a secure line across."
Ok we get to the island and haul in the other rope. We look to see how useful it is. We use a little bit of cloth to tie that to a arrow. We shoot a arrow across the 100 ft. The smallest of us then uses that rope to get across and tie it off better. That is just an idea.
We should be able to get enough rope together to have someone swim across to tie off the other side. The main problem we can not swim in armor.
