OOC (laugh) not a very able bodied swimmer, but hey he must have doggy paddled his way across,

I think we leave the bridge up as I don't see any boats coming this way and we may need a quick retreat!

Myrrani crosses the bridge with the others, then looks back at it and says,

"We should put it back, in case they come back here and see it. It will give us away."

"We haven't exactly been covering our tracks it wont take much to know a small party has been this way, and if you think some may be coming home we should probably sink the other bridge to buy us more time because I am pretty sure when one of those things gets an arrow or blade to the face our position will be given away to every creature for miles.
But.. When hell breaks loose we need an escape plan as we don't exactly know what we are up against yet, jumping into the river might work but theres a good chance most of us wont surface again, well not with all our gear atleast"

"If you do want to sink the bridge I volunteer myself as a look out and guard in case any more arrive"

"No, you make a good point. While there MAY be danger following us, we KNOW there is danger ahead, and it is better to have an escape route from the danger we know than to have protection from a danger that might not exist."

Sir Valdalen agrees wholeheartedly the bridge needs to stay up. "I don't want to make a comedic charge from the opposite direction with an army of enraged enemies chasing us, and have no bridge to heroically trundle across before desperately managing to sink it back into the water to buy ourselves time to escape. Not that that will happen, just musing."

The youth walks around the opposite bank near the bridge and looks around, waiting for the others. "I think we need to see what signs of activity we can find around here, and what Aive's friend can reveal to us from this point. We need to be quiet and stay hidden from this point on so we can sneak up on whatever is waiting for us, if it doesn't know we're here yet. "

Lwentano agrees to keep the bridge up too. Hopefully no boat comes by and ruins the bridge before we have a chance to come back. He will examine the area on the other side of the bridge to see if he can see any signs of a trail leading away.

Myrrani looks at the two paths and whispers.

"Should we see what is along this other path first? It would not do if they have reinforcements coming up behind us, or there may be some sort of prison or treasury down this way."

Lwentano agree that maybe it would be wise to follow the western path first. Maybe they can find out what they are facing by listening at the back door first.

I think going west first is a good idea. Checking out the back door of the cave my be a way of finding out the strength of what we face.
