OOC: Test, you need to remember a few things.
1) The smoke only went out so far, it didn't fill the whole cave.
2) Only me, you, Val(?), and Del were actually in the side tunnel when it went off.
3) At this point, everybody has made their moves considering if they can see or not, I think, except possibly Val, who may not have even have been in range of the smoke.
4) If you can't handle leading, there are a bunch of us you can give the responsibility to instead.
By all means since you know your stuff so well its all yours then.
Its just when he says "Everyone must roll once, vrs. Will or fortitude" I assume he meant all the people, its the standard meaning for 'everyone'.
Also the hide flap dropped 15 ft away from the crossroad where most of us are located and philo cant really get that close and remain hidden.
And yeah people are going onto second actions before the first ones have been clarified or our opponent has had a turn.
Also your dot points were useless because I never assumed the smoke went everywhere I'm well aware it has a radius, Del wasn't in the side tunnel when it went off he wasn't even in the smoke, he moved into the smoke after it happened.
And the other two must just be in front of the flap as they never said they were moving into the cave further and were not up to the crossroad yet but still in the smoke radius so I'm well aware what is going on but every one has 2 or 3 posts up already and nothing is in the game thread yet and some of the 1st post aren't usable and when I try to sort stuff out all I get are your smart [..] dot points so I resign as party leader.
What in the world?! I'm not sure that anything that happened justified half of what just got posted for the past few posts, but that's neither here nor there now.
I would like Val to help whoever it was that had asked me to be the "meat shield", to move that direction to help offer protection, as the paladin is already armed and has shield at the ready, though failed the check so was affected by the choking fog, whatever it is. Past that I don't have any other specifics to any turn other than my rolls, because my character wouldn't really be able to see or know quite what's going on, only that black fog rolled out and obscured everything, and someone called for assistance, and there is a certainty enemies are nearby.
I'm amiable to whatever helps address, confront and resolve/overcome this combat and obstacle/challenge, I just can't post with much authority, as I don't really know what's going on.
OOC this is partly why I'm skeptical of running full game systems in forums, and especially D&D/D20, and also of the party leader format, though it has worked fairly well more or less with KNtoran's game and here too for the most part.
Myrrani groans. "Rats? And we can't see a thing! Val, move out of the way, I'll torch them, and we can try to get out of this blasted smoke."
If Val moves, Myrrani will cast burning hands along the tunnel ahead of them.
Aive's gonna follow Philos voice and if he runs into the hide flap (he will be unaware its there if its still there on his turn) he will attempt to cut his way through it.
Once clear of the smoke and still holding his torch he will quickly appraise the trustworthiness of this new ally and having not much choice will give him a quick thanks by nod then call to his friends as he readies his second and last flask of oil.
(a water skin filled with oil wouldn't work the same would it?)
Val continues to try to get clear of the obscuring cloud while fighting off the vermin, and protecting the smaller companion in the cramped tunnel. "Par'e and Mar'e never said there would be days like this, mon dieu!" says the Paladin, blinking and trying to use peripheral vision to see the skittering creatures better.
