Myrrani sighs and shakes her head at Aive's reaction. "I will admit that we don't have much to go on here, and indeed it's possible we're jumping at shadows. I have an idea..."
She pauses briefly and sighs sadly before continuing. "I'll enter the mage camp, and try to mingle with them. I'll try to seem interested in what they're doing, and find out whether they are the Dark, or just some mercantile mages. I'll try not to find out anything concrete about the Dark though, because I don't want to be a target or anything. If necessary, I may be forced to actually try and join their order, at which point I'll need to disappear. Plain and simple, I'll need to go underground, into hiding. Before we do anything, I'll need a way to do that quickly and suddenly."
OOC: Well, Aive's new friends should be able to make someone disappear. Surely the thieves guild has ways to hide someone from the law when things get rough, so this could work perfectly. I am rather uniquely suited to the task. I'm a magic user, and I have a rather solid Bluff check.
Philo is impressed with Myrrani's courage but wary of her plan.
"We can try to locate the local guild and feel them out. As strangers to the area, I'm not sure how they will feel about helping us to the degree of hiding you -- what with you not being a thief and none of us being known to their leadership.
"If the camp is supposed to be some type of market place as its cover, we can openly go there and look around. If the opportunity is there, we can slip in and out of tents and see what we can see. Afterall, we are thiefs, it would be kind of suspicious if we didn't try to get where we arent suppose to be.
But before we do that, I do want to introduce ourselves to the local guild so that if we have to get caught to protect our cover, they can help us with who to bribe or escape routes."
Aive looks Myranni up and down once again, like so many times before as if he keeps forgetting she is different, or simply admiring her in unflattering ways "I don't doubt, if infiltration is our plan, that you are more then our most valuable asset, Your an oddity, female, a raw caster and your words flow freely without the hinderance of an unsettled mind.
But IF.. This is the path we take, I will escort you as far as I can, two people wont raise anymore suspicion than one, surely there will be steps of screening and people to deal with first, having some experience with the sort I will aid you as far as I can until they filter me out.
But are we really going to leave the town while we know tonight they will be attacked? It is the best time to attack the mage camp as some of the defences will be down but if we infiltrate it may take too long and we lose this advantage, if we defend the town we may lose the advantage to infiltrate.
I dare to suggest we split up, infiltrate, and defend, I fear we know too little to plan an attack, and could be far in over our heads...
As for defending,
At least we know 'how' they are going to attack, if only others would believe us we could prepare more then adequately for the attack, better yet if we could call of this parade altogether, if not for the right reasons then perhaps we give them a more current visible one...

"Hmm... I have an idea. It would require the help of the entire church, but we could probably pull it off."
She rubs her temples, wearily.
"We could fake a plague."
After pausing to let her words register, she holds up her hand to stop any objections before she finishes.
"If we have one of the newer members of the church let slip to one of the townsfolk that the mysterious disappearances are actually the church quarantining the infected to try and prevent its spread, the rumours will spread like wildfire. He could easily pretend to let it slip in the hopes of comforting the families of the disappeared. Then, once the rumours spread, we just have to come out with a flier from the church saying that anyone who has had severe nightmares of late is required to come by for inspection. After that, once enough people come by, you throw the whole city into quarantine, with nobody allowed to leave their homes, and cancel the parade. Once we have dealt with the mages, be they Dark or not, you can lift the quarantine off the city and reveal that some people died from it, but that anyone still alive should be fine. State that the number of deaths was next to nothing because of the peoples swift and willing compliance, and tell them they are all free to go about their lives, and the parade has been rescheduled for next week."
Aive sheds an impressed smile, " And I don't even have to kill anyone"
He turns to the priest, "what are the protocols for a plague outbreak, who calls the shots and inspects the people? could this work?"
Aive and Philo should go visit this thieves guild and see what they know and think.
It wouldn't be bad to implement two plans giving twice the reason not to go out also incase one fails.
OK, I need to know what to post in the party thread. So far, what I have is...
The Plans:
A} We go to the camp as simple customers, there for the festivities, and take a look around, scouting it out as best we can without taking risks. Possibly purchasing things from the mages. Aive and Philo selling their loot if they get the chance to do so inconspicuously.
B} Fake a plague. Working with the church, we have one of the newer members of the church "let slip" to one of the townsfolk that the mysterious disappearances are actually the church quarantining people infected with a plague to try and prevent its spread, the rumours will spread like wildfire, partly due to multiple leakages, partly by common curiosity and gossip. He could easily pretend to let it slip in the hopes of comforting the families of the disappeared. Then, once the rumours spread, we just come out with a flier from the church saying that anyone who has had severe nightmares of late is required to come by for inspection. After that, once enough people come by, we have the church throw the whole city into quarantine, with nobody allowed to leave their homes, and cancel the parade. This will buy us time to deal with the mages. Once we have dealt with the mages, be they Dark or not, the church can lift the quarantine off the city and reveal that some people died from it, but that anyone still alive should be fine. The ones who died "from the plague" will be those we were unable to save. We will try to have the church state that the number of deaths was next to nothing because of the peoples swift and willing compliance, and tell them they are all free to go about their lives, and the parade has been rescheduled for next week.
C} Myrrani and Aive will enter the mage camp, and try to mingle with them. Myrrani will try to seem interested in what they're doing, while Aive plays her scoundrelly escort, and Myrrani will try and find out whether they are the Dark, or just some mercantile mages. Myrrani'll try not to find out anything concrete about the Dark though, because She doesn't want to be a target or anything. If necessary, she may be forced to pretend to actually try and join their order, at which point she will fall back on whatever connections Aive can manage to make in the Thieves Guild and disappear. While Myrrani goes about her inquiries in the camp, Aive will play the part of a scoundrelly thief, covertly spying on the mages as much as he can while pretending to be a mere pickpocket.
The Party: Making quick inquiries, desiring speedy answers to the following.
Questions for the Church:
1) When is the parade scheduled for? How much time do we have?
2) What are the protocols for a plague outbreak, who calls the shots and inspects the people? Could the plan work?
3) Where is Gabriel?
4) What selection of silver weapons are available for purchase?
Questions for the Thieves Guild:
1) Could you make someone "disappear" so that they could lose whatever is tailing them?
2) What sort of secret paths and passageways are there to get around the city, and the mage camp, unnoticed?
Aive and Philo: Getting chummy with the Thieves Guild. Also purchase (Silver weaponry, what do you guys want?) Work on more hand signals if they get the chance.
Myrrani: Thinking up plans and backup plans and side plans, and getting the church to help with the plans as necessary, without asking too much.
Lwentano: Buys a silver long sword and 40 silver arrows.
Gabriel: Unknown.
The Funds: I don't remember exactly what the party has for funds at the moment, but I'm going to start including this in my posts.

Hey, testsubject, I get that you're tired of waiting, but how about instead of just going and posting actions that YOU want to do, you join the discussion and help us find out what the PARTY wants to do? I posted here saying what I thought, and nobody has responded to what I said. If you didn't like it, you should have posted here telling me so, rather than jumping the gun and posting in the game thread. If you DID like what I had posted, then I need to know what silver gear you wanted.
We're a team, that means we work together trying to figure out what's best. If one of us has an idea, we share it, and see what the others think. We don't rush off and do whatever we feel like without consulting the others.
