[Out of Character] Umm, I believe Oliron asked you to post in the Game thread, this the the party thread.
Also, you don't know where we are right away. (Unless the GM says that you start right around us.) I believe you are still in the town of Kalgek. Me and Tical are together outside of the town and Aliron is off on his own.
A bright flash appears and the tearing sound of thunder echoes throughout Klagek as a planar portal opens. The portal emits rays of bright light and in the midst of this light, the silhouette of a humanoid emerges. As the portal closes the image of a young human can be seen. He (Aleric) stands 6'3" with long blond hair and austere blue eyes that peer curiously at each villager and their surroundings.
Aleric saunters through the town looking from one way to another as if he were walking through a museum. Eventually I make my way to what appears to be a tavern. I cautiously approach a patron and ask "what is this place?"
I guess I am part of the party now ehh? OK, I don't know what I have to roll but I guess we will be traveling quite some time. I roll a 16+2 18 for the first couple hours. I guess this is a forced march. Wont do much except follow until we get into combat. Even then I'm only level one sorcerer.
Out of Character:: [For ease of role playing it may be helpful to know Aleric's character bio.]
[Character Backstory:] Aleric Cousland is the son of a prominent noble by the name of Hederick Cousland and hails from the city of Parlainth in a distant world known as Barsaive.
After discovering a cache of Orichalcum (a very rare metal native to the world of Barsaive bearing the qualities of elemental earth, air, fire, and water), he, at the command of his father Lord Hederick, had been charged to lead a trade caravan bearing the precious ore to Throal (an underground dwarven city renowned for its weaponsmiths).
Prior to leaving however, A thunderous tremor racked the city of Parlainth and darkness covered the land in a dreadful pall as a great rift opened between his world and the astral plane. As the veil between his world and the astral realm lay torn open, Aleric witnessed as hordes of demons led by a gigantic, hideous black wyrm plunged into his city in a frenzy of flames and carnage.
Racing back toward Cousland Manor, all the while dodging hordes of demonic beasts, he reached the floor of the great hall only to see it's roof split apart by a gigantic clawed talon. A loud eerie sucking sound filled the chamber. The next moment Aleric watched as his mother and father were consumed in an enormous stream of purple flames.
Fearing for his life, Aleric raced back to save what may be left of the trade caravan which was now the only hope left for Parlainth.
By the time he reached the wagons, most of the soldiers and tradesmen were either killed or had fled. But a glimmer of hope reached Aleric's eyes. There still remained one chest bearing the precious Orichalculm.
Hoisting the chest, he proceeded to flee the burning city. However, before he could reach the outskirts of Parlainth, a great shadow and a thunderous crash that rocked the earth halted his decent. The terrifying wyrm blocked now blocked his path.
In his mind Aleric heard the demon speak. "Bring me the chest pitiful human." But before he could even think of what to do next the astral rift began to seal itself drawing the demonic army back to its own plane.
As the wyrm struggled against the closing rift, its enormous talon lay hold of Aleric, still bearing the chest. Aleric and the demon faced each other eye to eye as both were drawn into the void between planes.
Fainting at the sheer horror of the sight and the loss of his breath in the demon's strangle hold, Aleric lost consciousness.
He awoke only to find himself in a land he had never seen before (this would be the town of Klagek), a single bar of Orichalcum ore lay at his feet. Retrieving it, Aleric heard in the back of his mind, "there is no place you can run where I cannot find you."
I like the intro of Aleric, probably best to do that kind of thing in the player thread as you have. However if you're going to post any actions of your character they should be posted in the game thread.
Note: Only post actions there please, any other type of post can be done within the player thread. Also when entering combat if you post several rolls at once (say 4 rounds worth) the battle moves quicker.
[Out of Character::] Oliron, when you wrote "the soldiers tell you get your weapons and escort you inside the fort," does this mean our characters are given their weapons back? I just want to make sure I read that right.
