I can't answer most of that, or respond, because it's an action. That stuff is more suited to the game thread.
I just posted what I did because a little clarification now would give Aive and Philo a better idea of what they are dealing with.
These guys are like thugs in the sense that they respond mostly to physical communication. Sitting down and having and intellectual conversation is not their style. You can plan all you like but you can tell already that they just don't get it.
I just thought that information would help you picture the scene.
Also I was hoping to get a quicker response from the party in the game thread. It has been a full week. If I don't get a post soon I will have to go ahead without one before I forget what is going on.

Well can you pretend that is in the game thread? I wont be ready to move on until I sort these guys out! So they will follow me but won't obey? I'm confused now but you said they will respond to violence so I will kill one of them
Ok, first of all what is your alignment. If it isn't chaotic evil it will be after your action. Your saying you want to lie to a possible enemy then once he has been duped shoot him in cold blood in the back. The soul purpose of all this being for your own personal gain in power. That is textbook chaotic evil my friend.
This is a bit of a stretch but, picture the three stooges. Now imagine trying to get them to fall in line and do your bidding.
It's not that these ruffians won't follow you. It's that they are going to more than likely foul up whatever task you give them. Situations will come up where they will need to think fast and on their own. When this inevitably comes up there is a good chance they will make the situation worse.
I shouldn't really say this but ask yourself. Once they are caught do you think they won't squeal on you to save themselves, and what happens when they return to you missing fingers?
What I'm getting at is that at this particular time the possibility to "command" them is there. However your going to have to invest more time than a couple of days to do it proper. They have no loyalty to you or significant fear of you. Maybe if you were a higher level and had deeper pockets you could pull it off.
I'm just saying, you can go ahead with these plans but there is a high probability it's going to backfire.
These guys need training. They have no understanding of how a proper guild functions. They lack the ability to move around pitfalls. They have no real loyalty to you. All these things are factors in what your attempting.
Again it's possible but keep in mind the reality of the situation and the countless ways for it to go wrong. Not just the few ways that it can work.
Actions that happen in game need to stay in the game thread. Tell Myranni what you want to do so he can post it in the thread. Otherwise if another day goes by post it yourself in game thread. That goes for everyone.
Last thing, if I don't get a game post from the party in the next two days I will be posting my own. I can try and fit what you guys are doing in by rereading the party thread and put that in. It may not be good for you guys though. I already have some pretty nasty ideas of what the dark are up too.

I've got no problem with being evil as I need to go evil to become an assassin, but thats text book chaotic neutral, I'm not swaying to a good or evil side just thinking about myself, and pluss his bigger quests and venturing into the dark is all purely of good will. Not to mention this guy is probably bad anyway. Aive is cleaning up the streets, when his guild is enforced it will be the only crime in the town and it will be organised sophisticated and neat.
chaotic evil would be killing him, killing the next 4 people who talk then murdering his family aswell.
I had planed to spend money on training before I sent them for serious field work, I didn't think snooping around outside peoples houses or spreading rumors would be too much of a task for these crims to handle, any that cant do that obviously aren't cut out to be thieves and wont get in. Those who pass I will financially support them for a few months while they train.
Also I will put the time (and money) in to mingle with the right guards and politicians, if this one is trying to lessen the guards then his opposition might want a little bit of trouble around the place to strengthen their need.
Aive will attempt political advancement after he has helped save the town from the dark as that might make him a little more important and influential. One thing at a time.
However on the otherside I completely understand if you think it is too low level to start planning something like this but you put it all there and let everything start rolling only to turn around and kill the idea at the last moment.
I'm sure these shady characters have broken into homes before, this time they don't enter, one stands look out and if they get spotted they just bail, I doubt that will lead to the cutting off of fingers or interrogations.
Ive thrown around alot of money already, and promise training and much more and only ask 3 little tasks in return, I don't know why I'm going to have to kill some one to get it done but if thats what it takes I will.
I understand completely with everything you said. I am not trying to kill the idea. I just want it to be more challenging. I mean you basically just found these guys and are already their leader, what's left. That just seems a little too easy you know.
The way you layed out that post, it was clearer to me what your doing, and I agree, they should be able to pull off those simple tasks. I will have to roll it all out, we will see I guess. Post the basic plan in party thread or game thread just so that I get your final action.
There are 9 thieves that will listen to you for now. It may sway further one way or the other depending on the results of the upcoming actions. Two of the rouges are Ryanc and Bejie (they are level 2 rouges). The rest are level 1 rouges.
I just want to say if I mess with you on these guys it's not meant in a mean spirited way. I'm probably attempting some comic relief for my own amusement or trying to make it more challenging for you.

Yea I understand there will be alot of upkeep and problems that I will have to deal with as we go along, I will try to prepare for as many as I can but I'm sure thats impossible. I actually look forward to these challanges as they will test Aives leadership and sculpt the type of guild and followers he has.
Dang, ok uh, I just posted in game tread. I didn't know if you had just left or what. Sorry, your in a bit of a pickle now. You aren't dead or anything but yeah, I will most likely need some will checks by you whatever your action. Four should do it, though you can throw a few more in if you feel too, wouldn't hurt.
