PBP D&D Dark Calling Support & Questions - Page 24

What will it take to start the training?
I would assume as long as someone has I a higher skill then another he can train him,

and I guess the more money I spend the better training equipment I could provide?
I would like to pay the lvl 2's a gp per person they train per a day (7) and the others a gp for everyone per day for food and drink and selfs and 58gp worth of training supplies.
(100gp for 3 days)

Also if I roll some int checks could aive think up some clever training games that might work better safer and quicker?
25 20 25 11 17 (I kid not I got two nats mayb three but I will just assume it didn't reroll when I clicked after the 1st nat otherwise it was to crazy)

for example One I would like to impose is

buying a few kegs of ale and suppling every one with a code, most importantly they must remeber their own code (perhaps write it down or just remeber) but secondly learn as many of the other peoples codes as possible.

If some one brings you a drink you must both drink, also there will be cards and dice if they want to try gamble it out.

this will test pick pocketing, bluff sense motive diplomacy and their ability to keep a secret and stay sober. Also will probably be a good group joining activity. ?

I'm not sure, technically you aren't supposed to be able to raise skills that way. In real life that's the way you do it though. I am going to have to put some real thought into this. I should have an answer by tomorrow.

Nice rolls by the way, very nice. Don't worry whatever we figure out those rolls won't be wasted.

Well I imagine they still cant go past the plus 4 in the skill for first level but if they don't have the skill on 4 maybe they can get to that, maybe they can also develope the appropriate feat to give them a further plus 2 or 3 (depending on the feat)

maybe in training they can gain a small amount of xp but not as much as compared to actuall doing the tasks.

just some small ideas as I'm not sure how this would work either smile.gif yours yo play with dm,
perhaps they will need longer training time to actually develope and in that case I will sort that out after we have been to the darks camp and hopefully come back alive and richer.

Hi just wanted to ask something and add a bit that isnt in the game thread,

Aive would like to find one of the finest weapon craftsmen in this town, I'll butter hm up with diplomacy, what he is after is similar to a punching dagger I guess but being strapped to the forearm leaving the hands free?

I was thinking they take a full round each to attach, and for now deal a d4 damage 20x2, (worse then a dagger)

Its something I would like to slowly start working on, basic for now and maybe build up the scores and crit range and go retractable later and so forth, as aive designs better plans and meets better craftsmen.

If he could have something like that made up for me soon that would be great, I will pay for two of them in advance.

Also if I need to pay someone to help train me in two weapon fighting I will do so but I would like to firstly spend a decent amount of time starting the guilds training and making sure they are heading in the right direction.

I think you should also push us on our way to the dark camp! smile.gif

You can seek out a trainer, Klagek is a military minded town so you won't have to look hard. The crafting of arm blades is possible but it may be some time before a working model can be assembled.
The training of the rouges will go something like you show them tricks of the trade. Techniques you've picked up that they haven't learned. No gold is required and it will raise their skills. However you'll have to spend a certain amount of time showing them.

Even if the gold is not required I would still like to spend it, if anything just to improve the moral and show aive is dedicated. At first he laughs at the trainer but when he learns he is serious he then abuses him and sends him on his way,

I'm slightly confused, are you training for two weapon fighting?

Was the amount of gold too mutch, what do you mean by abuse?

The dark camp, hmm I could toss you in there but . . .

I'm not going to toss you in.

Yea Aive cant justify almost 20 gp for 3 hours work, no one earns that, he will compare the trainer to a overpriced "escort" and points out, that is not the service he is interested in.

The gold I said I was spending is on the theives guild.

Out of game if that is the required price I will find another way to learn it from someone else later.

I meant with moving on Rentok said he was healing and I was training but I think as soon as thats over we are moving to the camp.
