Part of the problem I am seeing in that is once you change the Charisma bonus and whatever the negative attribute would be. You then have to take into account background of the race, weight, height, age, eye color, hair color, vision, special abilities, speed, carry capacity, and on and on. So it isn't a matter of just changing a few scores. I think for simplicity just changing the name of another race would be sufficient. Like I said you can probably find a magical item that boosts your charisma.
Later on, as we ge farther into the game I will begin to accept different races and classes most likely, it is just to soon for all that. KNtoran your idea is good, like I said if I was playing on a table top I would be all for this sort of thing. It is just in this forum, I am wary of doing things like this because everyone is going to want a specialized character.

That was the other main thing I as a GM was looking at, was too specialized a character is going to make everyone else want one. Somewhat different is one thing, like a kobold or half-ogre or something (and I mean if *I* were running it, not for Oliron), but too far out and it's just too much and opens the door for "I want a Predator/Alien/Troll/Psuedodragon etc". For the guy's first game GMing on the forum, it would be best for him for others to be understanding and let him get used to running it with the basic game mechanics the way they are so he can learn from possible minor but correctable mistakes or situations first.
I still don't see how people use the whole D&D system and stats to run a forum game to begin with. Yeesh.
Hey Rentok, I'm curious about the Cha bonus - I mean, overall, really, even if you could play a nymph or whatever, you still only get a +1 or 2 or something probably - unless you were lucky enough to roll high, you still might only have a +1 or 2 total Cha bonus, which you might roll anyway for a standard human, so I think you're concentrating on the system mechanic bonuses and taking them for a little more than they're really worth, assuming you're using the random dice roll and/or character maker generator that these player-run AD&D games use.
The problem there being that I already sort of had a magical item chosen. Also, to say that I shouldn't care about the bonus, since I might roll those two points anyways, isn't quite plausible. I mean, if I roll those two points, then th ebonus allows me to have even better CHA, which I need. It also means that if I roll low, I can still get a somewhat decent CHA score. Even if I use my item to give me a CHA bonus, there are plenty of ways that I could lose the item, or it could break, is there even a magic item that boosts CHA in the first place, and again, if I had the latent CHA bonus, it would allow me to capitalize on those high rolls, and repair any low ones. Basically, it's that you don't make a class from a race that it doesn't go with. Skeletons have a Cha score of 1, no matter what. You wouldn't make a Bard out of a Skeleton. That example is extreme, but you get my point.
I took a +1 sword both because of my +0 Str bonus, pretty low for a Paladin, and also because it fit best, as a new part of the concept I needed to put together, as a result of the rolls.
I envisioned my character somewhat different, more like Joan of Arc and the girl from Dragon Slayer, but due to rolls and such, turned out a little bit more like Mulan, but with the drive of Thatcher from a Knight's Tale, so it sort of worked out well in a direction I didn't expect; just keep an open mind, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised.
And the race/class/no Cha bonus "perfect" magic race makes sense in one way but in another could be pointed at as another reason why D20 sucks. Oops did I say that. =D
How about using the Gnome statistics but, instead of a +2 to your constitution it goes to charisma? Also on that way of thinking I may be able to allow substitutions for other race attribute bonuses. I suppose it would not matter extremely what was the +2 and what is the -2 in the scheme of things. As long as the theme / background supports this in some way. I don't want to veer to far from these core rules for now. As I have said later on I can see fiddling with the rules more perhaps. I just don't like doing it because once you open that door it is hard to shut it.
