I know some parents like to give them a lot of food / sugary stuff so it makes them tired and sleep but I think this is wrong. It is far better to have them running about or getting some specific exercise or sport time so they are naturally tired.
If I was a parent I would have my kids take a nap after lunch. I would read them a bedtime story. If they were scared to sleep I would tell them it's ok darling you go to sleep ok. I would have a strict shedule.
