Did Neil Armstrong really claim to have seen very large high tech ships when he visited the moon or is this urban legend?

It's hearsay. Neil Amstrong is a guy known for his shyness so there is no way (in my opinion) he said that publicly, probably privately. He chose not to attend Nasa event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing.
It is also interesting how NASA deleted all footage of the first humans landing on the moon. The excuse was so strange. Basically they said they did not know where the tapes were. How something so historical is lost?

I think Neil Armstrong is hiding something.... Something that huge would not have just been discarded over nothing. Maybe there is something on the video footage that shouldn't be?
If an alien came to our planet and stabbed a flag in our ground what would we do? If there is intelligent life on the moon they are a lot more civilized than us.... Or else Neil Armstrong would be in a test tube being analyzed.

The alleged quote from Neil Armstrong that circulates the net is:

Professor: But NASA had other missions after Apollo 11?
Armstrong: Naturally - NASA was committed at that time, and couldn't risk panic on Earth. But it really was a quick scoop and back again.
Armstrong confirmed that the story was true but refused to go into further detail, beyond admitting that the CIA was behind the cover-up.
There really is no 'source' for it as he denied that he said that.
