We live in such a wacky world. You can hardly do anything without 100 people condemning you for making the right decision. Then there are those who make really bad decisions and think they are right. What gives you peace of mind from the maddness of our planet?

ANN CANNON: HARD TO EXPLAIN EVIL DONE IN THE NAME OF GOOD
Lately I've been thinking about the wicked things human beings sometimes do to
one another.

Hmmm,
What gives me peace of mind from the madness of this planet?
My .45
Seriously,
I don't know. Never thought about it really. I know I am pretty tranquil, despite the ramblings I do here.
My wife says I am one of the most "detached" people she ever met. Things just don't bother me- usually.
Life is just what it is, and I meet it that way.
Many people out there have the best intentions, thinking that they are fighting for a just cause as cited in the article posted. Is it really all that difficult to distinguish between good and evil ? How can torturing and killing a boy because of his race be considered anything else but evil? Yet many supposedly upright, moral and law-abiding citizens thought otherwise.
Maybe we should look at how people are influenced by mass sentiment or by a very compelling and charismatic leader. Some people are very inflexible in their thinking and are unwilling to change their views.
So back to your question... what gives me peace of mind from the madness of this planet? I would have to say enjoying a very frivolous activity i.e gossiping on the phone with a friend !
Oh ! one more thing.... taking a relaxing trip and I'm going to do just that in Tobago over the long weekend.
In the everyday routine of life I seem to be forever surrounded by madness.
The world is just such a rat race, especially in the big cities.
I just live in a small town where life is a little bit more laid back and try and escape when I have some time off.
Hike up into the mountains or go fishing or surfing at the beach, that always helps me find some peace as I look back at the 'world' from out the back of the waves or from the peak of a mountain.
A little bit of time out to get away from it all.
