Fondest Childhood memory

I was thinking about what my favorite childhood memory of something I did or I did with my family when I was growing up.  Do you have one?  If so, what was it?

I actually had several.  When I was growing up, my dad used to race cars, so we would go to the race tracks on Saturdays to watch him race.  Going on trips with my mom, grandmother, and sister to New York City.  I've been to alot of places in New York.  We even saw the Rockettes do their Christmas show one year.  Once, my dad took my sister and I to see that movie, E.T. when it first played in the movie theater way back in the 80's.

I guess my best times were around Christmas, I would always have lots of gifts to look forward to and of course, my mother's great cooking.

I remember when I was around 4 years old and I was in kindergarden, I wanted a pink bag that all girls at the school had it and I asked my uncles to buy one for me and the next day I had it! wink.gif and it wasn't like the rest of the girls, it was cuter! I still remember how it looked like.
Other fondest memory is my grandmothr picking us up from primary school, since we usually use to go to a private tutor right after school, she used to bring chocolate milk, cookies and all sort of goodies to eat with our friends by the private tutor laugh.gif it was so much fun!

memory Childhood Fondest

One of my fondest memories of my childhood are of my Dad and I washing the dinner dishes. All of us kids took turns doing the dishes and Dad's turn was on Saturday night. So I only got to do dishes with him once a month. I would wash and he would rinse, dry and put away. He would answer any question I had and I would answer any question he would have. We talked and listened to each other the whole time. I was always so disappointed when all the dishes were done.

Wow, maybe we have discovered a way to actually get kids to want to do dishes! wink.gif

I have a few memories that stick out right now...

I remember going hometeaching (visit other members of our church) with my dad occasionally, and he would always take me (or whoever was with him) out to get a treat afterward, and once we got ice cream cones and he told the cashier to make me a really really really big one! The ice cream not including the cone had to be a foot tall, and it was soft serve!

Whenever we'd all pile in the car for my Dad to drive us to the school bus stop, he'd always say, "let's go to the moon!" or, "Let's go to the zoo!" And we'd be like, "Da-ad!"

I seem to remember most clearly of all the toys I played with, the ones that were "special." For example, my grandma had two very old Indian (native american) dolls that she would only let us play with occasionally, and we always felt very special. My mom also had a set of dolls called little kiddels that were from her childhood that we loved, mostly because they were my mom's when she was little! (but they were really fun, too)
