my Dad also named me Diane, my Mum and dad tried for months to think of a name, and then my Dad suggested Diane, I don't unfortunately have a middle name, as they found it hard enough to think of a first name!
I have my mother to blame for my unfortunate name (Cherry). My dad wanted to call me Lynn. But with my last name (Tong) also being one syllable, my mother didn't think it sounded right. She liked the name Cherry and thought it was different. So my parents sort of compromised and gave me Cherry for a first name and Lynn as a middle name. I always questioned my mother's sanity for having named me after a fruit.

It surprises me how popular Jacob is, seeing that I don't know many Jacobs....Any names you expected to see or not see on the list? |
Offtopic but, Cherry, I don't think your name is unfortunate at all! I like unique names, although some people can get weird with them, I think yours is just cute! |
I am named after my father, I am a junior. However, my middle name started with my great grandfather, then my grandfather was first born and given the same middle name. My father was first born and given the same middle name. I of course of that same middle name and I was first born. I named my first born son with the same middle name as well. Five generations of first borns carry the name vincent as their middle name.
