Do read and speak alot to him? I have a friend whose son was also the same way. She started reading alot of simple books to him and speaking simple words. There for a while it didn't seem like it was working, but after all her hard work of reading and always speaking to him all the time. He does speak more words instead of that 'baby talk'. One of her main problems was her babysitter was always talking 'baby talk' instead of just talking to him. But after she asked her babysitter to stop talking to him like that, it helped too. I hope that might help you alittle bit.
Thanks for the tips mss. My son may be suffering for Hyperactivity disorder although is too young to say but he's not the type of kid that will be sit down for at least 5 minutes to read him a book, so I have to do things that will call his attention like playing educational games on the computer, he loves that! he has a fascination with computers like his dad lol. I really hope to see him speaking soon.
LDS, how did things turn out with Felipe? Did you ever take him to a speech therapist or child psychologist, and what did they say?
I have a cousin who is 3 or 4 and I haven't hardly heard him say a real word. On the other hand, my mom tells me that I was speaking sentances and singing songs at somewhere around 16 months! It's interesting how much of a difference there can be between kids with these things, nothing is set in stone!
