Daniel Petric, became a video game junkie while being home recovering from an illness, murdered his mother and attempted to murder his father because they would not let him play HALO 3. Daniel was sentenced to life in prison but is eligible for parole 2030. Ref. Source 3

I have seen game addicts. They can get as violent as some junkies hooked on hard drugs. It is not a pretty sight. My eldest son learned this this year as his x-roommate at college became hooked on WoW and even tried to bite people who came into his room. Thankfully this boy was thrown out of college. I hope that this kid is getting his halo3 fix in prison.
