Finnish FM calls for end to Israeli settlement building

Alexander Stubb (cons), the Finnish foreign minister, said in Brussels on Monday that he had told his Israeli counterpart, Avigdor Lieberman, that Israel must stop the construction of further settlements in occupied East Jerusalem.
Israel announced earlier this month it would build a further 1,600 housing units in East Jerusalem, sparking condemnation in many parts of the world, including the US, Israel's strongest ally.
"I stressed that the construction of settlements must stop and that one must re-establish the 1967 borders and carry out a two-state solution," Mr Stubb told the Finnish News Agency (STT).
