Ryorst nods curtly and stands to follow. "My name is Ryorst. I appreciate you taking the time to show me around."

"Well, I thank you for your time," Lionel said as she left. He starts looking over the books, opening each in turn.
ooc: Any rolls to see what Lionel gains from the books?
I feel after everything has been finished up for the day, we should have three to four days go by (or whatever is needed). It could be said that everyone is busy and unable to meet the inside group, or that they met, but it was out of game. The DM could have us make rolls to see what information, progress, we gain during this time. What does everyone think?

OOC: I think we should just plan out the three days ahead of time. If any major event occurs that would interrupt the plan, or that might cause us to make a new plan, then we should stop, and re-think our plan. Like so, this is my post for the next few days, but if we decide not to go with my idea, its just an example.

Ryorst takes the tour, exchanging small talk with the sergeant about the daily life in the stronghold, as well as asking in depth about the defenses. After the tour, he asks if he might take part in any training drills they run over the next few days. Then, he spends his next few days guarding Lionel, meeting with and talking with Blossom, and participating in any training drills he is allowed into. In his conversations with guards at training, and occasionally while talking with Blossom, he tries to gain what information he can, though the questions he asks Blossom are often of a much more personal nature. Mainly he asks her what the other servants and guards think of the Duke, and the orc problem.

Many rolls, to go with those actions:

8d20: 16, 7, 20, 14, 8, 9, 6, 12
8d12: 1, 8, 12, 10, 11, 6, 5, 8
8d8: 8, 2, 4, 3, 1, 5, 7, 2
8d6: 5, 4, 4, 6, 4, 5, 3, 1

Lionel you will be pretty much occupied in the library for the next three days. You barely come out for food or drink let alone to sleep. A few times Ryorst had to carry your sleeping body back to your room to sleep. You were up again before dawn and pouring over the books as you started to place all the current figures in the political arena into place for this region. Even the brief visits by lady natasha did not stop you from learning more as you questioned her about some of the current figures. When Namdar finds you in the library you have a pretty good picture of the situation around this area and it does not look good. This Duke seems to be the only one concerned for his people and what is around on his land. The Dukes to the North, West and East of him have not been seen or heard from for a good five to ten years. They send in their tributes but that is about it.

Now that your more familiar with the inner circle you can focus your attention on other matters. Ryorst tells you that the Stronghold has supplies and arms to hold up with twice the number of armsmen and withstand a seige for a good six months. The keep is well fortified and the engineers inspect and maintain the walls with pride. Ryorst also seems to stay up late at night with a certain serving lady.

"Namdar, Ryorst, this situation is frustrating indeed," Lionel says quietly to his friend, "What makes it worse is that I cannot find a motive. It's possible the Duke's adviser has been hired by another to bring the Duke down, or make him look bad before his peers, but apart from that I"m not sure"¦"
Lionel sighs, putting away all the paperwork, and books. "I do know this, the more and more I find. I more curtain I"m that the Duke is not a part of this and, from what I have found, is a noble my father would had been glad to have on his side if he were alive."
Lionel started to pace, "What to do, what to do. I feel I must tell the Duke what I know, that this adviser is the key to his problems, but this will be difficult as the Duke trust his completely."

Ryorst sighs, "I think we might be more successful working from the other end. Rather than removing the adviser from power in the stronghold, remove him from power with the orcs. I'm sure there is some way we could get the orcs, if not to be peaceful, then at least trick them into being less organized again."

D&D The Stronghold - Page 13

OOC: Hello all, I'm terribly sorry for this interruption, but I'm still having trouble familiarizing myself with this boards platform so please forgive me.

After I submitted my character sheet into the character creation thread, I was directed to the "Dukes Stronghold" which I'm guessing is here.

Am I able to just join into the game now? or what do I do?

Sorry for this inconvenience.

ooc: It depends, this is the thread for those inside the dukes stronghold. The main party has headed north and if you intend to be in that party you should post in that thread (ADnD play by post party thread).
