Do you tend to treat your dog as if she were a human? Check out this from Wolf Blitzer of CNN:
Not Without My Dog
If you've slept with a lot of dogs, you're not unlike many other Americans. Pet lovers are doing more and more with their furry friends, pushing them in baby strollers and purchasing canine-coordinated attire.

Well, we can't have any dogs at my home. Due to my husband's allergies. :( But my mom and dad have a dog. They have had this dog for like 7 or 8 years. They treat their dog like it's a child. They always talk to him, love on him. He sleeps on the foot of their bed. The dog loves to go for rides with my mom in her car. They even buy him little boxes of doggie treats and chew toys and wrap them up to put under the tree at Christmas time. But dog is also jealous of when there is a baby around. The dog will growl if my mom is holding or having my youngest child sitting with her. But my mom and dad don't go to the extreme of buying the dog clothes or a special things like that. They just treat the dog like he is a part of the family.
I LOVE DOGS!!!! ;D I think they're the most wonderfuil, beautiful pets ever!!!!
I had 6 dogs in Argentina and we loved each one of them, my mom used to cook great dishes for them and I remember one time of her friends came over and says 'Is that the food for the dogs, how I would like to be a dog!' LOL
Yes, some people treat their dogs as good as members of their family. I don't see anything wrong with that. I think is great although it would be so good that all the energy and money they spend for their pets can be used to help a child who is less fortunate, don't you all think?.
i think dogs are very intelligent and loving animals most of em that is...while i dont let my dogs sleep on my bed( cause they're all over the place durin the day mud etc..) if i had a choice they'd sleep in my room...near me...i love dogs have always had a pair growin up...i share whatever i am eatin with them..when im home theyre always two steps behind me like 2 sentinels..when i get up theyre at the the door waitin to greet me ..theyre like 2 children to me..my aunt calls them my sons...im scared stiff of some stupid bandit killin them to get into our house..but they are my treasures...although we do have our disagreements esp pertaining to food...we cant go near them when theyre eating otherwise they are lambs..lol..at least to me..
My dog is like my baby and he thinks he's human!
He lays on the couch next to me on his side with his head on the pillow, comforter on him but his front paws out like we would lay with our arms outside of the comforter.
He "talks" back too.
My dog, Cody, has a routine every night. When he turn off the lights for bedtime, he will come into our room, and go to the side of the bed where my wife sleeps, and curl up on the floor. Sometimes we will call to him, and he'll get up on the bed and lay right between the 2 of us. Mind you, he is 100lbs, so it is good that we have a king-size bed! My wife spoils him much more than I do, but, yes, we treat him just like one of the family, even signing his name in Christmas and Birthday cards that we send out. Sometimes, when I am on the couch in the living room, he will curl up in a ball on the couch right next to me and take a nap. He definitely isn't shy about acting like he's human, that's for sure!
