Best Friends
Remember the old days?
School and friends?
You find yourself inseparable, not a moment apart
The parties, the get-togethers
The laughing you can still here in the back of your mind from the sleepovers
Everything was always perfect at those times
And then"¦ You learn it was ever true
Silly, you really didn't see it coming?
How amusing
The whispering had begun long, long back
Your name, the glancing stares
The laughing before you entered the room
You really never saw it all?
How pathetic
They say you"ll do things you said you"d never do
Ruin your upheld reputation when you can't stop them
You searched your life for true friendship that you know you"ll never find
You crossed the country for something better
You found those friends you only dreamt about
But guess what?
They"re doing the same
Whispering is continuing
The love of your life is cheating
Nights of pain
Dizzy dreaming
Nauseous screaming
Drifting memories and tears
Burning sensations built up by harmful fears...
You give up on everything around you and learn from it
Your own heart ripped among the confusion
Healing your self slowly as scars begin to grow
Promising that you"ll be stronger from here on

Good. Do your poems reflect strong personal events in your life or the life of others around you? |
