180th Annual General Conference

Please feel free to post some of the quotes you probably heard in General Conference today. Some interesting ones:

Elder Packer: He mentioned that the Priesthood will lose great power if the sisters in the Church are neglected. He also said that he thinks the distribution of the priesthood has raced ahead of distributing the power of the Priesthood.

Sister Beck: She mentioned that a good woman has to constantly resist deceptive messages telling her that she is entitled to more time away from her responsibilities.

She also said women should be women and not be babies that need petting and correction all the time. She also acknowledged that as women we like to be appreciated but if we do not get all the appreciation which we think we deserve, what it matters?.

Elder Anderson: He talked a little about clinical depression and mentioned that for some people consulting with a doctor may be the solution but for most people, trusting in God will replace sadness for happiness.

Four were called to the First Quorum of the Seventy: Elders Kevin R. Duncan, Washington, Washington County; Gerrit W. Gong, Provo; Patrick Kearon, Somerset, England; and Juan A. Uceda, Clifton, N.J. Called to serve in the Second Quorum of the Seventy are Elders Larry R. Lawrence, Clovis, Calif.; Per G. Malm, Goteborg, Sweden; and Jairo Mazzagardi, Vinheldo, Brazil. Ref. Source 3

I enjoyed some of the talks very much. I think President Uchforf (spelling?) is a great speaker. I must admit I was a little taken back by some of the things Sister Becks said since I think it may be used in the wrong context.
