Mother sues Meadow Lark Elementary School for allegedly burning son's hand
A Salt Lake City woman is suing Meadow Lark Elementary School, alleging that her son's special education teacher put the boy's hand in "scalding water" and burned him. Maria Gutierrez's son, who has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair, was in Erin Robinson's class when she was teaching students the difference between hot and cold water and allegedly stuck the boy's hand in scalding water, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in 3rd District Court. To be honest, I am NOT surprised. This is NOT the first time I read something like that happening in special ed schools in Utah and other states. This is the sad reality of special education. People believing they have the patience to undertake students with different types of challenges and at the end, they just cannot take it!
It takes VERY SPECIAL people to deal with those who have these sort of challenges. Hence, I homeschool and EVEN if I ever move to another country, I will remain homeschooling because I'm sick of seeing the abuse that is happening towards special needs children.
