I know some of us have disagreements about how things are managed by the government but I still can't imagine giving up citizenship over it. I will always be an American and will rather fight for changes than bail.

Giving Up US Citizenship To Avoid Tax & Other Issues

Stacia,

I absolutely agree with you. I love this country and the freedom and opportunities it provides us. I disagree with some things, agree with other things, and for some I need more information. The great thing is we can debate here and fix what's broken. And as time changes situations we can fix the fixes.

I've been all over the world and I've experienced many countries. All of them have their good and bad but none of them are the USA. I'm not trying to conceited about my country… but it is my country.

My father's mother came here from Greece. One of her proudest she'd us was the day she became a citizen. She went back to visit her family in Greece and they made fun of the US. She cut her vacation short and came back here. After church I asked her why as a naive ten year old would. She told me she was American and that I was too and to be proud of this country. That stuck.

Nice story. In addition to what I said above I can't imagine where I would live. Our culture and freedom is taken for granted. People wish for what we have here that's why they come.
