Electoral SPAM
It seems the PNM has resorted to online spamming in order to get their word across. I got the following Email that I DID NOT sign up for:
Well, it seems like it was not enough the interview of last night. Since he has been in office, he never had to address the nation 1 week before election. Tonight at 8:00pm he will address the country in ALL TV channels and radio stations....AGAIN. I hope he does not abuse his privilege as PM and it does not become a PNM propaganda.

I think its obvious that the People's Partnership will win this election. The big question is by how many seats. I will like them to win by enough seats that they can change the constitution and enact some laws to set people accountable for what they do.

Comments: My fellow Trinidadians, this election the choice should be simple. If you like the way the country is going I.e. Crime with murders up by 300% since 2002, food prices keep going up e.g. Sliced whole wheat bread has moved from $5.50 in 2002 to $11 in 2010, and let us be honest on corruption an air port that went over budget by approximately $0.4 billion but UDECOTTwith over runs of almost $4 billion (I.e. Approximately 10 time more and most of the UNC that was in that mess no longer there.) and at least with the air port it in use. OR do you want change, that is the possibility of something great and when I say possibility, it is certain they can't do worse.
With respect to those who are worried about losing there government job ponder this, the government changes and god forbid you do lose your job at least the economy is still good so you will find a job elsewhere. But if the government stay and they continue to spend and borrow the way they are doing in a matter of 3 years the economy crashes and all of us are out of work and can't get a next one.
I am not a UNC or PNM or COP or TOP or ....I am first and for most a TRINIDADIAN so when I vote I will cast my vote for a better future for myself and the ones that come after me. Think, vote not for the pittance you may get now but vote for the future of our country
LDS there two types of majorities, simple and special. The simple majority would be in this case 21 seats. The special majority is two-thirds of 41 which is 28 (really 27.3). A special majority is needed to change anything in the Constitution, all that is required to change other laws is a simple majority. This is why parties aim for a certain number of seats (in this case 28) so that they can have that special majority and change the constitution.
