Gavage - Forced Feeding In Mauritania - Page 2

I whole heartedly agree that this has to stop, little girls should not be made to eat. However we are forgetting the one thing that will have to change. This is their culture. Sure, we don't agree with it, but how can we change a whole culture? If someone came into America or Australia and told us we had to change our culture, we would be appalled. They need to be re-educated on obesity. Curvy women can still be fit and healthy but not at risk of heart disease. Who's going to step in and do this?

Gavage - Forced Feeding In Mauritania Reviews Consumer & Travel Family Culture

There are some traditions in the world that are interesting and some others that are unexpected but this one is just abusive. I can only imagine the torment a young woman who may be naturally thin has to go through - I guess the equivalent of a Western woman who is obese.
