What is your strategy for confronting the fantasy creature Eagle in Dungeons & Dragons?

As long as you are only fighting one or two of these, as is the number per encounter. One should be ok with normal tactics. I can't think of any special kind of attacks, maybe setting a shield to block the diving bird. Thus it hits the shield and probably dies, I don't know just a thought.
