Octopus
What is your strategy for confronting the creature Octopus in Dungeons & Dragons?

This is the regular size octopus. They don't do much damage but they're likely to hit you and hard to hit.
Their tentacle things do no damage, I guess its just to grab so it can bite. They travel solitary so that rules out death by a swarm of them. They tend to flee unless really hungry or if you are its food. I can't see a real needed tactic here other than a decent attack role. One or two hits and you are octopus free. I am wondering though if it has grabbed you and you are grappled, all you would need to do is make a grapple check.
Probably why they only attack natural food, anything else can punk them.
