Marja Tiura (cons) lobbied strongly on behalf of her campaign financiers at a National Coalition parliamentary group meeting, Finnish national daily Helsingin Sanomat reported in its Tuesday edition.
According to police preliminary investigation material obtained by the paper, Arto Merisalo, a businessman who gave Ms Tiura campaign donations, had asked the latter to lobby for legislation concerning the special status of certain kinds of commercial enterprises. Helsingin Sanomat interviewed a participant at the parliamentary group meeting who said that Ms Tiura has spoken exceptionally forcefully on the matter. Source: Helsinki Times
