Drugs Suck
There was a time when I got over social and I just started to chat to everyone nearly all the cool people that hang about the area I used to go! I started to do things I don't normally do...
But then one of the guys there started to take heroin and hes only turned 16! I think thats terrible coz especially after I heard stories about peoples noses collapsing and that, and I don't want anything to happen to him, pluss I don't want to get blamed by the police for what he is doing, anyway what was the right thing for me to do?
I told him it wasn't cool and that he doesn't have to take it just coz his cool friends do, he told me to shut up and that he was a drug addict, I didn't like his attitude, after that I just never met him again and started to take a different root to school , anyway the way I see it is we are both into different things so whats the use in being friends we haven't really known each other all that long so its not as if we will loose anything!
what would you have done?
Delcita, your example shows how important for the emphasis to not be so much on don't use drugs as much as don't be with the wrong people. I think there is too much emphasis on what not to do that teenagers do not know what they should do.

common household products like hairspray, shoe polish and glue each year and

I would never take drugs and I think that any one that does really needs help. I also think that people need to be aware that there is help out there. I personally know the effects of Drugs because my Uncle was on marijuana and who knows what else, he is schizophrenic and the drugs made it worse. He has done some horrible things to me, but one day I hope he will be better then be able to do something with his life.

EDITORIAL: GIRLS' DRUG HABITS ALARMING
This is hardly a proud distinction. The latest National Survey on Drug Use and Health says teenage girls are trying marijuana, alcohol and cigarettes at higher rates than boys - a reversal of past trends.

That's a heavy thing to be doing at any age, much less 16! I would have done the same thing in your situation.
