"In the early evening hours of 04/14/2010, Waco "White Wolf" Tohausen, 37 years old, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department in Murphy, NC.
Why is it when a sports person is arrested for such charges their religion never comes up? Why is it that when the Chatholic priests are caught they are actually sheltered by the church and hidden away in another place until things cool off? implying this is a Wiccan specific related crime is in poor taste. R-pe is about power, not religious affiliations.
That's a good point, in and of itself, one that is overlooked, though I'm not sure how much of the opposite is truly also internalized as much as one would imply. I suppose there probably is some validity to the observation that when people are charged with severe crimes, it isn't generally noted "by the way, he was a CHRISTIAN!" like it was a shock to everyone - but then again, Christianity, in Western cultures, is the defacto standard, so it isn't exactly a surprise - it's like saying "He ate BREAD!" But the significance is still there, because the reverse, non-Christians, IS very much focused on - very keen eye!
Thank you, but it comes from 20 years of being in and out of the pagan community and hearing the things a generally peaceful religious path are blamed for and discounting that it is a human condition, and that any religion could be pointed at for these things as well.
