I saw the strange case on 48 Hours about the story of Christian Longo, accused of murdering his entire family, then taking the identity of an award-winning New York Times writer named Finkel. The children, Zachery and Sadie were found in a lake along with their mother. Sadie was found at the bottom of the lake weighted by a stone.

What are your thoughts about this case?

I think Christian Longo killed his entirely family. I also think he felt no remorse whatsoever and that makes him a very dangerous individual. He needs to be put to death.

He is definitely a psychopath. I think he killed his whole family as well. Even if his story were true, how could anyone believe it - he is a compulsive liar and like most con men enjoys being on a stage of attention. Notice how it all started - he wanted to look rich and basically stole from other to do so - even if in the end his family had to die in the process. Possibly his wife was trying to leave him and he did not give her the chance. $8 Hours said that Christian Longo is appealing his conviction and also is engaged to someone with two children - crazy.

Comments: Esquire had an article on him - by Michael Finkel, whose identity he stole - where Finkel agreed to help Longo end his life (he wants to donate his organs so had stopped his appeals process) in return for hearing the true story of the actual murders. Finkel had said he could not bring himself to fully strangle the baby Madison and had put her in the suitcase still breathing and could hear her gasp and cry when he threw it in the marina. He likewise could not bear to strangle his older two, so they went into the December water in underpants, alive, with rocks tied to their legs. What a cowardly psychopath he is.

Comments: Additionally in the Finkel article in Esquire he relates that Longo has changed his mind about his appeals and now pursues them vigorously as his life has new purpose. He started an organization to try and convince death row inmates to agree to be rendered brain dead so their organs can be harvested (lethal injection stops the heart and renders organis unusable). It's amazing that he thinks this could ever come to pass for a multitude of legal and social and ethical reasons but what a macabre pass time and so perfect for him - narcissism and delusion wrapped around a core of pychosis. I think it's called GAVE [..] -can't remember what that stood for but he seems to feel that donating his organs would end his life on a high note. Failing that it'll preserve his sorry skin another ten years.
