Gulf Coast Residents Outraged that Money Earned on Cleanup Might Be Subtracted from $20 Billion Claim Fund
Gulf Coast residents are outraged by a recent announcement that the $20 billion government-administered claim fund will subtract money cleanup workers earn by working for the cleanup effort from any future claims. Fund administrator Kenneth Feinberg says the ruling will apply to anyone who participates in the Vessels of Opportunity program, which has employed hundreds of Gulf Coast residents left out of work because of the spill. It's seen as an effort to limit the number of lawsuits against BP. We speak with independent journalist Dahr Jamail. Ref. Source 9
While we are dealing with all of this oil spill and everyone is up in arms about the deep water off shore drilling of oil I find it interesting that Obama made a deal with the Chinese to fund a oil well off the coast of Brazil where all the oil is only for China and nothing is for the USA. In fact the Company who will be drilling this well for China has a major stock holder who gave Obama a lot of money to finance his run for President. This seems interesting considering it is tax payer money funding a well we will not get any oil out of.
Now we may have to deal with more oil yet again in the gulf if this well is indeed leaking in the bedrock.
I can feel for these people. Being on the front line of a oil spill and trying to clean it up or other wise contain it can be very hazardous to ones health. I hope that BP foots the medical bills for all those who are effected for the rest of their lives.
I have been seeing some commercials of BP explaining to us they are doing everything they can to stop the problem and are devoted to fixing it.
My thought was that the commercial should say they are doing everything they can to pay off as many people as possible to make this go away.
Seriously are we supposed to trust BP after such blatant criminal activity has occurred. I hope the American people does not just go along with the media on this and forget about how ridiculous and horrible this whole thing is.
Then again if I know America it won't be long before we are covering the story of some California celebrity instead of real issues like this.

To seal or to sell? BP has options on well's remaining oil
NEW ORLEANS - The vast oil reservoir beneath BP's blown-out well could still be worth billions of dollars even after it spewed crude into the Gulf of Mexico for more than three months - but the multinational company blamed for causing the disaster isn't saying whether it plans to cash in on this potential windfall.
