Needless to say, I live on the gulf coast. I wasn't directly affected by the oil spill, didn't lose my job and the business wasn't affected to the point it lost money. I work for a casino, but I am sure they got something from the settlement. I know many that got money claiming they lost money, some did but a majority didn't.
I am a Katrina survivor and know first hand watching people take advantage of the systems put in place. If it wasn't for the government I wouldn't have a place to live, they are the ones that helped me the most.
It makes me sad to see people take advantage of a system when there are people truly in need of help. Greed seems to be the one thing mankind has in common, even if it hurts the ones that really need it.
