where i live...we have a clinic call the "Planned parent hood clinic" but the name is a little decieving. The clinic is every wednesday and anybody of any age or sex can go and talk to volunteer doctors and other teens about tons of stuff, lots of girls in highschool go to the clinic to get sexual protection like the pill or shot, and the best thing is they always can get you in. They give a cheaper rate so everyone can afford it and its all confindential. I was just curious if anyone else has something like this in their town, and what they think of the idea?
Personally I think its great i go to the place myself, I dont like the doctors office in our town very much it takes forever to get an appointment and everything is prescribed which costs so much more. But I am worried about it.
Actually, we have Medical Assurance that cover these expenses (not the pills you can find in stores though), and once your above 14 everything is confidential unless you wish the doctors to tell your parents. So the hospital covers this
There are several, Taber, Raymond, Barnwell, Magrath(almost), Cardston.
50% in taber was exaggerated a bit, its probably more like 40% but Raymond is well over 50%. 8 out of every 10 kids in Raymond is LDS.
The town of raymond has the largest stake center out of anywhere in all of Canada. If you don't know much about my church, the Stake Center is our meeting house. Even with such a large building, they have to have 8 wards. Wards are areas of the town that go to church at a certain time. There is so many people that they all can't go to church at say 9am in the morning so it is split up into 8 different times. 1 ward at 8:30am, other at 10:00am, then 11:30am, then 1:00am and so on.
The Sugar Bowl which is the biggest basketball tournament in Southern Alberta was held in that Stake Center because its gym is 3 times bigger than the one at Raymond High School.
I won't even mention Cardston, there are so many LDS there.
That's really interesting, some big numbers there.. but what town exactly you live in cuz this thread Refers to the town you live in not all the towns in canada... Anyways i should had known this since i was born in Calgary, AB.. Thanks for sharing that info tho...
