Freedom, a new kind of combat ship, sailing into port

The Freedom is expected to reach port in San Diego Bay, its permanent home, this morning. It is the first of the Navy's littoral combat ships, a breed of vessels commissioned just after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks to operate in shallow and congested waters close to shores where terrorists and other threats might lurk. Smaller and quicker craft can be idea for our navy now. I think this ship and its sister ships will make our navy proud.

Think of how nice it can be as a pleasure/fishing boat. Having those fold down hatchways to launch a jet ski or two. Or just to land a nice big fish on. Yeah I can see that. I doubt the Navy will sell one to a private person.
