The last year of high-school was the best!!! why? well, basically we didn't study that much like other years , also we had our graduation trip to one of the most beautiful cities of Argentina called Bariloche. The teachers treated us better than the rest and were more understanding. It was really fun! oh also because I went to a private school and we had uniforms, we were allowed to design some cute sweaters for us to wear as a distinction of being in the senior year. I just loved it.!
I think the best time of my Senior year was my Senior prom and graduation day. Although during my senior year, the teachers were pretty light on us considering we were going to be graduating and all that. If I had to pick one year of my schooling that was the best, it would have to be my Senior year.
Wow, my senior year in school sure was different than either LDS or Mss! The only thing that was different from freshman, junior, and sophomore years was that I only had classes for half a day. But the workload was still the same. No teacher was easy on us just because we were seniors.
We didn't have a senior prom either. The senior class councilor (adult) absconded with all of our money! Including the money for our senior trip(6 hour cruise on Puget Sound), our year books, money to pay for the rental of our graduation caps and gowns, etc.
Our class decided in our sophomore year that we were going to make it easier for ALL of the students to participate in ALL of the senior activities, on an equal basis. So we raised money to pay for gowns, tuxes, dinner before prom, breakfast after prom, senior cruise, year books, caps and gowns. IF you couldn't afford any of these, all you had to do was go to the Senior Board and request it.
Well, our Senior Class Councilor took all the money. What a jerk. So we didn't have any of those activities. As far as I know, he never got caught. That's okay, we had a wonderful graduation! So that is what was THE best about my graduation. We did it OUR way. I graduated in 1970, and we totally ignored the way they wanted us to sit, and we sat so that we formed the peace symbol. The guys wore black and the gals wore white. With the gals forming the symbol and the guys as the background. It was quite a sight.
My senior year at high school was awesome. We finally had the respect of the entire school because we were the seniors. It was a nice feeling walking around campus with all the freshman looking up to you. Of course we were all preparing for CXC' (I lived in Trinidad at the time) so that took up a lot of our time. Unfortunately after I took my exams I went back to the US so never attended my graduation. But my mom did, and she collected all the hardware I received for achievements, etc so that was cool for her.
My senior year was just another year at the high school. Since my freshman year "me and mine" were not messed with my any of the other students. Not from threat of violence, unless it was entirely unintential. My being a good sized wrestler might also have had something to do with it. My friends and I scated through unscathed by petty gossip and quarrels. We graduated and went about our boring lives. . . .
