America The Story Of Us

The History Channel has a new series called, "America The Story Of Us" that shows through acting an animation how the USA was formed. I have just seen one thus far but it is excellent. I learned some things about the founding of America that I did not know before. For instance the Pilgrims helped local Indians to kill other Indians in exchange for showing them how to grow crops in sand - then the feast happened we know as "Thanksgiving". The way the story is often portrayed is as though the Pilgrims landed and the Indians just immediately helped them. Also Jamestown which was an earlier settlement to the South of where the Pilgrims landed survived off of tobacco which was the USA's number one export. Jamestown also had horrific events because of hunger. One man even killed his pregnant wife in the attempt to eat her to survive. Those that did not do this actually ate leather as a means to survive.

Us Story America

This is a common thing with USA. Many people around the world think we are pristine. That we formed out of pure goodness and energy ready to take on the evil of the world. In fact America's history, present, and future is a mutch different story. Most of which is very similar to any other country.

I think the major difference is our military. On sheer skill and altogether effectiveness America is unmatched.
