Drunk driving in general is one thing I could never understand. Here you have many well respected youths (and others) who have their whole lives ahead of them. Then they jump behind a car drunk. This is like taking a gun, putting a bullet in it, spinning the chamber, and firing into a crowd.
An example that bothers me is, the mother of my child's sister is studying philosophy in college. She is so sure she is a good person who follows higher laws. Yet she gets drunk very often and drives that way. Often crashing into signs, parked cars, ect . . .
How can you claim to be a good person who is enlightened and still risk the lives of an innocent person like this?
The same thing goes for trying to evade police in a high speed car chase.

That is one of the sad things I saw when I was Military police officer. High speeds in a car after drinking usually end up with someone getting killed. With all the hype about drinking and driving and how serious it is I would hope that more people would get the idea and stop doing this.
