Vista Does Not See External Harddrive Via USB
If you hook up an external HD to Vista via a USB container it will be likely that Vista will see it as a USB device but not assign it a usable drive letter. You can try this:
Go to: control panel/administrative tools/computer management/storage/disk management and when you see the block with the external drive you right click and open "change drive letter and path" and assigned it an available letter.
That still may not work as Vista looks for Basic rather than Dynamic Drives.
