War Of The Gods - Character Creation - Page 4

Looks good, was gonna have a half giant guard on the boat protecting the top store room, you can have that job if you like. Up to you.

100 gp 3d6, 19-20/x2, 16 lb. Slashing "nice big sword"

And for the gold I have just been generating leveled characters to see what they get and I don't think race or class come into it after 1st level.

But as your third you get 2700.
Just need a little back ground and some items and were almost good to go!

I have to run to work, but here is what I have so far for equipment. No chance I can squeeze a 1.5x multiplier for carrying capacity out of you is there, considering my size? Max load for my STR is 300lb, so I'm close but still safe. I'll definately take the Guard job, and I'll get back to you with some history/background.

Actually I'll make you a personal guard of the Lady Elizabeth, She is extremely paranoid but this way you can move around and your not expected to stand at your post. She would have started with someone else but then fired him and hired you thinking he was suspicious. She also has two large guard dogs that wont even let you close to her, you will have the room next to hers and I'm not sure who your sharing it with yet. But your her paid muscle and escort.

Your size thing is great coz you can use large weapons with no penalties but you can still also use medium, but the small great axe will have a minus 2 to attack roll.

(creature can't make optimum use of a weapon that isn't properly sized for it. A cumulative -2 penalty applies on attack rolls for each size category of difference between the size of its intended wielder and the size of its actual wielder.)

But yea it becomes a light one handed. You could just use a regular great axe in one hand at the same minus tho.

And yea you can have the 1.5 carrying capacity modifier. Its hard to say if you should get the 2x for being large or not but if 1.5 will be enough I'm happy with that.

Alright, well considering all of that I have some revisions. I'd like to swap out the Greataxe for a large battleaxe, which should cost the same as the greataxe(10gpx2=20gp), be appropriate for my size, and one-handed with no -2. I figure with the increased carrying capacity I might add a large Longspear aswell, and was wondering if the increase in size would grant it an extra 5ft of reach?

Not sure about the specifics of where we are, world wise, for this background. I was thinking to have lived in some sort of costal city for the adolescent years (Half-giants reach maturity at 30, apparently), couple of years in the naval service then onto some mercenary work. If you can throw me some appropriate names/places I'll fatten it out some.

Seems like the mood has been set thus far for a NG party, but I figure CG probably fits a Giant better. Probably wouldn't have been a completely 'legal' exit from the Navy. I'm sure I had my reasons. Probably don't like to talk about it with strangers ......

I'll look into the spear, No one knows much about this land your heading too just that little bit at the end of the intro.
There wouldn't be much of a naval force as sea travel while not new is just recently being used by the humans too stretch the imperial army and explore new lands.
I'll say the imperial army recruited you on one of the exploration ships but you got sick of the rules
(exact details up too you but I will need to know them, theres probably an imperial captain out there after you) and jumped ship to get away from them.

There is a mountain line just north of the place your heading to called 'mountain of the jiants' (lame name I know) where everyone fears to tread and it divides part of the land. Just incase your interested. But as most this game will be on the place you are heading feel free to make up names of places you come from.

Info I would like is overall character goals and close family or friends left behind or lost, also any enimies made or things/races hated. The more I know about your character the more I can reward you for roleplaying.

War Of The Gods - Character Creation

I have a regular family nothing of particular note other than I have a large family. My goals include taking a close look at time and experiencing life to its fullest. Enemies are possibly some student I was in school with. Maybe he is jealous of my skill and feels he must beat me, very competitive. My fears would be something with the fear of being in closed in spaces, which may be playing out in cabin fever right now.

Or were you asking the half-giant?

No that was for all, and it's been noted. I like the idea of you having a rival, a fellow Xeph perhaps loosely related, cousin or second cousin that you always out did.
Virax / Vax will be his name unless you want to pick one, slightly older then you. His dad probably was involved with your teachings and was very impressed by you and always compared the two of you.

1st game post will be tomorrow approx 30hours after this post, will appreciate final details and confirmation that your ready before then.

Let's say that I am orphaned by my giant father, and grew up in a very racially diverse, if prejudiced area, with my mother. Mother would have been on the wrong side of the law for a living, but unwillingly. Probably just needed the money to feed a growing half-giant. She'd have taught me right from wrong well, but always persistantly beleived that there is a difference between evil, and illegal. Eventually she'd have been killed doing whatever it was she was doing, by a rival gang member. As a child I would always have been interested in reading, and confused as to why the dwarves and human children were so opposed to my learning. I'd have developed my physical abilities as a defense mechanism, but always prefered to think my way around a problem if I could see an easier out.

Having grown up away from giants I'd have worked out the whole dwarf/giant issue late in my adolescence. Too late to really 'hate' dwarves, but early enough to mistrust them as a reflex. I'll have left the military because of a Dwarf superior who was continually exploiting my strong aversion to water. I'd never openly admit to being afraid of drowning, but I'm probably pretty easy to read if you look at my mental attributes.

I'll add the previously listed items to my sheet now. All ready for game start.
