What is your opinion on the appointment of Fazal Karim as Minister of Tertiary Education?

Comments: Fazal has been a fascinating individual who has worked in the banking industry and moved into education. He grew from a high school teacher who also became a co-ordinator for YTEPP and UWI Extra Mural Department. He eventually rose to the CEO of YTEPP and was the second in line at the School of Continuing Studies, UWI. He was later appointed CEO of the National Training Agency. He later became the Business Manager for the University of the West Indies.Mr. Karim holds a Bachelors Degree, a Diploma in Education, an MBA and has attended many post graduate seminars and courses around the world. His intelligence and real world knowledge far surpasses his academic qualifications. He is one of the most humble and kind persons you will ever meet. His suave is a natural management tool and his humor is simple and comforting. He is friendly but has no hesitation in getting the job done. His education and experience in life in general makes him a most suitable candidate for that position.

Comments: However "bright" the goodly minister appears to be on paper, he is absolutely unqualified to be dictating Science and Technology policy [..] So in my humble opinion his "appointment" in this particular ministry is shocking [..]
