Sony unveiled a game machine on Wednesday, the "PSX," that puts a TV tuner,
DVD recorder and game player in a single box.

I have 2 playstations, a computer, and a dvd player. I don't see the point in a video game system that should play dvds and do various other tasks. It's too much money and nine times out of ten, the souped up video game system malfunctions. Then you've spent all that money on something that doesn't work anymore.
I have only one playstation and is the older model. I don't see the need to get a new one even if I have the money to do it. The purpose it's just to play a game lol...so I don't see the need to have another one. The Sony PSX seems like a waste of money to me.
I think the key to this is what Msslmshdy said, that it malfunctions... items like this that have so many combinations are bound to be overused and therefore they will spoil faster. Also, if one feature is not working, you loose the availability of all while it is fixing. I guess something like this will be most useful if it is for a home away from home where you don't want to carry a whole bunch of equipment for the weekend.
