I was thinking about that too. The reason they do it is because some dummy will actually believe and open their email and take out their credit card and... :
Like the spammer said though... no matter how much they look for a solution for spam the spammers will work around it and make it a problem again. I think suing them would be good.

Add me to the L-O-N-G list of people who hate spam!!!!
I use Yahoo, and it does have the filter..... but it does not catch all of it and toss it in my bulk mail.
AND (!) some of my personal mail has been tossed in with the bulk/spam mail with the filter.... so I still have to check both my in-box and the bulk mail folder just to make sure I do not miss an important email.
I also hate pop-ups!!! I have a pop-up stopper, but there is one "company" that it does not work on. Their ads pop up occasionally and I can't figure how it gets by the stopper.
I can not believe they will spam cell phones. You can't escape spam!!! It is everywhere!
I guess they will create a tele-zapper for the cell phone next.
(I do not know it the zapper works..... after all it is advertised on an infomercial... why would I believe them---mwaahaaahaa!)
@ Sky, I think I can answer or suggest some options:

I didn't find out until recently about pop-ups is, sometimes some of the freeware programs you can download off the net contain hidden stuff that causes some of the pop-ups. Â Like you could be viewing a site and of course you'll have some pop-ups, but then you get these 'software updates' for time and date software for you puter. Â When you download them, whatever company you downloaded it from, automatically has commands in the software to cause other pop-ups.
@Sky, I had the same problem with my yahoo account with the filter. If I found some of my important email in the bulk folder, I would click on the message that was supposed to go into my inbox and click the this is not spam. Then I would create another filter to let those emails that are important to go into my inbox. I don't know if you've tried that or not. But since I've created the filter to catch my important emails to go into my inbox, I haven't had much problem with it since.

Sorry News, I tried the link to the article and received a Page not found error. In any case, I am glad that someone is taking this initiative to spam the spammers. I wonder how well it would work as a lot of the email addresses used are not valid or are redirections to invalid domains.

My Yahoo account isn't that bad. To date (I've been using Yahoo for 4 years) I haven't had more than a handful of spam messages. I switched from Hotmail -which was horrible. Everytime I sign up for something I'm not sure about, I use a fake name or put one too many letters in my name. Then, whenever I see my name spelled wrong, I immeadiately delete the mail (I do this with the mail that comes to my house too). As for the phone calls, there is a nation wide no calling list, which telemarketers aren't allowed to call, or they get a fine.
