How is it that former home owners have lost most everything and they don't get anything out of this? Heads of BOA should be serving jail time to prevent another occurrence not get bonuses.

Justice to announce $17B settlement with Bank of America
The settlement, the largest in history between the federal government and a single company, would resolve allegations of fraud involving mortgage securities sold to investors before the financial crisis. The deal is expected to be unveiled as soon as Thursday, according to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity in advance of the official announcement. Ref. USAToday

This is a good move but is it too late for those who lost their homes already? It will be good that assistance is given to those who do not have their home anymore and not just those struggling.
