Mari Kiviniemi, minister of public administration and local government, continues to be the favourite in the Centre Party chairmanship race, according to a poll reported by national daily Helsingin Sanomat on Tuesday. Kiviniemi was the favourite to chair the Centre according to 42 per cent of respondents who identified themselves as Centre Party supporters, while Mauri Pekkarinen, minister of economic affairs, came in second with 31 per cent support. The majority of Finns in general, 37 per cent, also chose Kiviniemi as their favourite amongst the candidates to chair the party. Source: Helsinki Times
