Comments: Villa rentals are becoming the trend in many islands such as the Dominican Republic, where I notice more people without the hotel wristband, and a lot of nice villas for rent that were not in the market a few years ago. Beach towns such as Sosua and Cabarete ( not to mention Cabrera ) are getting heavy investment funds for large scale villa residential projects, aimed primarily as second homes ( or vacation homes ) that are rented while not in use by the owners.
