The Elevator & Real Estate
It is interesting how the Elevator changed Real Estate forever. Before the invention of the Elevator the most valuable Real Estate of any tall building were the lower levels because it was easy to get to. With the invention of the Elevator the higher levels of any building became the most valuable because they were further from traffic and noise of at ground level. Interesting isn't it?

It is also that after a short time the upper levels became pent houses also. That is one floor now two or three living quarters as big as a small house, vs 10 smaller condo or apartments.
I question if the smog and bad air ever became a factor in the pricing on certain elevations in a tall building.
