Lift off! The first ever all-civilian crew successfully blasts into orbit on the SpaceX Inspiration4 mission. Four private citizens in a specially modified SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule blasted off to start three days of orbiting the Earth, the first time an all-civilian crew will have orbited the planet. Inspiration4 will circle the Earth in a higher orbit than the International Space Station. Source 3c.
I find private space launches to be very difficult to wrap my head around (They sound so Science Fiction in the "Running out of planet" style). But damn, I would love to be one of those civilians and get the chance to see Earth from space!
SpaceX's Starship rocket fails minutes after liftoff in an uncrewed test flight, crashing into the sea. Elon Musk’s company was aiming to send the nearly 400-foot Starship rocket on a round-the-world trip from the southern tip of Texas, near the Mexican border. It carried no people or satellites; both the booster and spacecraft on top were to be ditched into the sea. Source 9o.
