What is your review for the movie: "Waterworld"?

Some say Waterworld, despite its massive budget and star-studded cast, is one of the worst movies to come out of Hollywood in years (to me its a great movie, I love those apocalyptic movies). It's score, however, is another matter entirely. I certainly hope James Newton Howard received some sort of an award for the incredible music he composed for this movie.

I think this movie was treaded very harshly by critics. I didn't find anything wrong with the movie to deem it a bad movie. It isn't the greatest movie in the world but I thought it was pretty cool. I too like the apocalypse type movies. If you look at Mad Max, that movie wasn't all that great. I think because it was one of a kind made it a great movie. That is the way I feel about this movie. I think it is a one of a kind and went into uncharted territory.

For me it was definitely worth the time I spent watching it and I would watch it again.

There are several different angles that it approaches. "Mutations" (maybe more evolution) make the main character able to swim incredibly fast and breathe in water. It touches on a pirate faction that is determined to have a monopoly on oil. At the end it is about humans returning to land. As well it has pieces of a love story and questions of loyalty versus survival.

Again I really don't see why it was thought of as such a bad movie. Though I remember it getting bad reviews, it really wasn't bad at all in my opinion. It may have been better as a tv series or trilogy. The only fault I can find in it is I think they tried to cram to much stuff into the movie, and it didn't all fit in just right.

I also enjoyed Waterworld, what little I remember of it. It reminded me of Mad max but just in water. I believe there is a group of people in Hollywood that just has a serious dislike for any movie that Kevin Costner appears in. They rated him bad for Dances with Wolves even though I enjoyed that movie too.

I enjoyed this movie too. I think he did a good job with the role. I think the movie could have been better because it left a lot of loose ends all over in it. I would buy this movie none the less.
