War Of The Gods - Game - Page 18

As Wolter kneels down the dog suddenly lunges biting fiercely, Wolter is too quick and falls back avoiding the bite but not quite quick enough as the dog latches on too a flap of a pocket. The blink dog tears away destroying a small patch of clothing then just as suddenly as it all happens the dog disappears.

There is a soft descending ting ting ting as the ring given to you by lady Liz falls to the ground and rolls around.

also you suddenly remember the key that was on lady Liz's neck, (I can't remember who took it) and that it would probably fit the small box found near the halflings corpse.
However if you search for that box you will discover it long gone with the imperials.

Feroz jumps back, looking about for the dog who has vanished, "Uh I think I, ya I just remembered I have some books I need to study, later." Feroz walks to his quarters quickly.

*I can't wait to get back on dry land.*, he thinks.

Once Feroz gets some privacy he actually does take out his spell book and go over his spells. After that he stretches some of his psi muscles to make sure he doesn't get rusty. He feels better now that he is living in the moment once again and not trying to unravel so many mysteries. He takes a deep breathe of the sea breeze and exhales, at peace.

Wolter will quickly grab the ring and place it on his finger to keep it from being lost now that his pocket is compromised. He will also make sure the two other rings are safe in his pouch. After that he will watch for the blink dog. It has proven it is untrustworthy. He will attempt to place it in a cage or kill it. Either way he wants it in a place it will not harm him or any others.

Feroz returns to his room to find it has been vandalized, and when he finds his spell book much to his horror all his spells have been torn out.
While standing there in disbelief and shock the imperial mage approaches from behind and from under the large hood he says in a raspy familiar voice

" The cogs have began turning and the sands of time are slipping away, the puzzle is beginning to form and yet you remain oblivious to it all, Feroz Nasim I'm sure Awar would be frowning upon you now as well as that deceased fool Fargist"

When you turn to confront the mage he is gone.

(Fargist was your mentor in magic and psi)
(If you had detect magic you find that is still in the book)

Wolter after a few minutes the blink dog reappears 15ft away, sitting panting.

Feroz plops down were he stands. How could someone vandalize his possessions? What madness is this that his own spell book could be hurt so deeply.

Feroz scratches the back of his head and wonders if this vandalism is what led him to hallucinate the words he heard. Cogs turning, sands slipping, yes he is sure he imagined it in his stress. With all but one spell gone he wonders what he will read over and over again now. Just one spell, that is rather dull to read over and over.

Feroz beathes deeply, what is this preoccupation in his mind with unravelling some puzzle. He never had such crude thoughts before. He must meditate Feroz thinks, try to clear his head of all this. He heard of long boat rides driving people mad but never thought it would happen to him. He was having such a nice boat ride, save the flying pirate ship and such.

Feroz wanders about attempting to talk to any animals or furniture he sees. If the animal or furniture talks back he will be sure he has gone crazy. He will do this secretly as to not draw attention. Otherwise he meditates in his quarters. Going over his detect magic spell and working on a new spell / psi ability that would allow him to bypass boat rides in the future.

War The Gods Game - Page 18

"Land AHOY" Echoes through the ship, followed by a roar of cheers, and suddenly the ship is more lively then the day it had first parted land. Every one is rushing around gathering their stuff, consoling each other enjoying as much as they can the last scraps of food and ale available.

From the deck you can see a vast white dessert, cradled from the north with mighty mountains, and far down to the south you see the green of dense forrest.

The captain has informed all, that the destination is near the centre of the dessert, a highly populated mining town, from there those who wish to go to the Imperial city may.

The imperial city is supposed to be the grandest safest city to reside in. While the mining town has always been quite prosperous its a little more wild and dangerous.

The ship stops a few 100 feet from shore, the missing row boat can be seen on the sands.
Without a docking port unloading the ship will be a very long process, as the row boat must be filled, lowered, sent to shore and back then lifted and repeated.
The crew do this as night falls giving the others a chance to rest before the trek ahead.

Whats Wolter wish to do about the dog?

Feroz sleeps soundly threw the whole ordeal. Waking in the mourning he sees they are finally at land and gets very exited. He shouts and cheers then realizes he is alone on the deck looking foolish in this way.

Composing himself he waits as patiently as he can muster for his turn to take to row boat to land. He wonders briefly where Wolter is and his dogs.

*A whole desert to explore and be a part of, what a great new adventure. I've never been in a desert before.*, Feroz thinks happily.
