War Of The Gods - Game - Page 21

The moon holds high in the starry sky as the 5 warriors prepare to take on a small army in the dessert. At their back a large sand dune hides their ally's and valuables from the enemy.

Wolter and Feroz take aim, even though the distance is great both shots land magnificently and two gnolls drop dead instantly surprising and inspiring hope to even themselves. (both started with a nat)

There is confusion amongst them for a while as you continue to rain projectiles upon them

(Gnolls are hyena-headed, evil humanoids that wander in loose tribes. Most gnolls have dirty yellow or reddish-brown fur. A gnoll is a nocturnal carnivore, preferring intelligent creatures for food because they scream more. A gnoll is about 7-1/2 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds. Gnolls speak Gnoll.)

The gnolls were taken by surprise when arrows began falling about it took a few rounds to gather themselves together and head towards you. You can hear a commander literally barking orders in a high pitched hyena like yapping screams.

You watch as they split into 3 groups, while one heads straight on the others swing around to each side.

the 3 men with you turn to face a group each, you notice the third man with you, is holding a holy symbol like none you have seen before.

Wolter hits 3 different gnolls and Feroz 1 more, before the hyenas reach and attack your guards, each man in front of you has 2 hyenas on him and the gnolls will reach them on the next round
Feroz spent the last round reloading his crossbow.

2 dead 4 injured

Wolter will advise his guard dog to attack. He will continue to shoot arrows at the gnolls as they approach. Once they are in melee distance he will switch to the long sword.

Feroz does the same, he continues to fire bolts while back tracking to stay out of melee as long as possible. If he does enter into melee he will flee for his life down a hill. Using the skate ability to increase his speed further. Once out of melee range he will turn and fire again until in melee.

If he has no more hill to go down to increase his speed he will run full speed for the gates of the city. Calling up the them for assistance against the Gnolls.

Wolter will grit his teeth and fire arrows at the warrior that will be coming towards him soon. He will fire until the warrior is close to him and then take up sword again. He is hoping that somehow they make it through all of this.

The captain in a rage over his dead comrade charges the warrior gnoll,
The mage reacts with a spell and the captain pauses suddenly unable to move.
All archers fire at the helpless captain, the arrows thud into him like hitting into wood as he is unable to react or avoid them.

you notice the captain twitch as the gnoll walks up to him and raises his heavy flail above his head, he swings it down violently but the captain who broke free from the spell tumbles past him placing a dagger into the gnolls back.

The gnoll screams and with the speed of a haste spell the gnoll turns and smashes his flail into the cap's chest sending him sprawling across the sand. Once again not moving.

He begins laughing, then an arrow from Wolter tears into his side.
Feroz drops one of the archers with a well placed bolt.

Wolter fires at the gnoll again, and the arrow while true, could not penetrate his armor.
Feroz reloads
The mage cast upon himself.
The other gnolls have all started retreating, (non combatants)
Archers all fire upon feroz who has found a distance that advantages him over them, but one still hits for 4 damage.

The gnoll charges Wolter but attacks unexpectedly, you feel the impact but take no damage except for the painful sound of steel on steel, and broken sword bits clinging as they fall to the floor. (your sword has been sundered)
